Korea Revisited
On January 15th 2006, North Korea announced that they had created their first nuclear missile. On February 5th of that year, North Korea declared war on South Korea. Because of the United States’ obsession with North Korea developing nuclear weapons, it had failed to notice a massive build-up of its army.
At the beginning of the war, America initially thought that North Korea would only have an army of about 750,000 to 1,000,000. They were sorely mistaken. The north invaded with three million men. This quickly overwhelmed the American and South Korean defenses. By March 2nd the north was moving so quickly that Seoul had been under siege for almost three weeks. On March 10th, president George Bush decided to address the nation via live television from his Texas ranch.
He said, “My fellow Americans, as you know the North Korean communist dictatorship invaded South Korea nearly three weeks ago. Since their invasion America has suffered 34,000 causalities. At the rate the North Korean army is advancing, there will be no South Korea by July or August. This is why we have no choice but to enact the draft. I know you may not like the idea of the draft, but think of what the consequences would be if we would just let South Korea go. It would send the message that America is weak and that we really don’t care. If that message would go out it would encourage other nations to do the same. We can’t let the Axis of Evil II spread any further. I assure you that enacting the draft is the last card we have to play against North Korea. With the enactment of the draft, we will send as many troops as it takes to defeat the North Koreans. We will defeat North Korea. Goodnight and god bless America.”
On May 4th, before the first shipment of 100,000 drafted soldiers could arrive in Korea the last 15,000 American soldiers, who were under-fed and had very little ammunition, surrendered at Pusan. North Korea now occupied the whole peninsula. This was the first mass-surrender of American soldiers to a foreign country since 1779, during the revolutionary war. After the surrender at Pusan, president Bush again addressed the nation vowing to not let this go silently.
On June 1st, the Brown committee was formed to find out how the US gravely underestimated the power of the North Korean army. By September 4th, they had an answer.
Nuclear Barrage
On September 4th 2006, the Brown Committee had answered the question: “Why didn’t we see that coming?” The answer was that some 2,000,000 of three million soldiers were in Mongolia up until three days before the invasion of the south. They were set up to like the Mongolian Army along the Chinese border doing routine military exercises. The ironic thing was, that one month before the invasion of the south, American spy satellites took pictures of one such exercise. When interpreted, America was puzzled and the only conclusion they could come to, was that Mongolia might be preparing for a war with China over Outer Mongolia.
After the Brown Committee gave the Bush the answer, they also told him that they would have to search deeper into it, but it looked like some country other than North Korea paid Mongolia to house the Korean soldiers. Bush did not want to tell the public about this because he wanted to have the answer as a whole; He did not want the public coming to their own conclusions. In the mean time America had bigger things to deal with. The economy was stagnating due to jobs being shipped over seas and the newly formed United Korean Socialist Republic declared war on Japan on October 1st. Between October 1st and October 15th, Korea launched a total of 150 non-nuclear missiles at Japan. Then it hit. On November 2nd 2006, Korea had succeeded in creating a long-range nuclear missile, and on November 3rd Korea launched this missile at Seattle Washington.
Due to out-dated missile detection systems on the west coast of America, the nuclear missile hit Seattle killing 450,000 citizens. At this moment, the president and congress were rushed to an underground bunker. When he was secure, Bush ordered a full-scale nuclear barrage on Korea.
After the first wave of 25 nuclear missiles hit Korea, Bush demanded satellite photos of the Korean peninsula to assess the damage. The photos showed the horror unleashed by the United States. Massive craters were seen at the center of nearly every place in Korea. By December 1st, 34,000,000 North and South Koreans had died. The fallout from the bombs was so severe, that the occupation plans drawn up by the US, United Kingdom, and UN, was abandoned because soldiers could not stay for more than a few weeks without dieing.
Kofi Annan once again stood up and said, “If it weren’t for America, there would be no UN. I am totally against the idea of throwing anyone out of the UN. We must come to an agreement.” Chatting erupted once more and Jiechi said, “Okay then, I believe that we should take away America’s vetoing powers temporarily until they show significant improvement.”
After more debate, the UN voted to take away America’s veto powers for one year. When Kofi Annan asked if Bush would accept the new terms for one year, he quickly said no. He denied any wrongdoing in his decision to bomb Korea. Bush also told Annan, “…those people deserved it one hundred-ten percent, and I believe that all of America believes so too.” For the rest of his life, George Bush would regret saying that sentence for the rest of his life.
A New Empire
Eventually Bush accepted the terms of the UN. He would have challenged it some more but he had much bigger things to worry about; Korea was sending a steady stream of 25 ballistic missiles at Japan a day and the economy was falling apart.
Even after the infamous “nuclear barrage”, Korea managed to stay afloat. No one dared to occupy it because of the radiation fallout. However, even in this time of hardship in Korea, the communists managed to benefit from it. They were telling the ignorant world, that even after a horrible event like the nuclear barrage, that no one dared to occupy the country because the west knew communism was stronger. Many believed the lies.
Due to these lies, Indonesia had a communist uprising and soon broke out into civil war. As did other countries like Thailand and Ecuador. As these events were happening, Bush just “stood back and watched the show” so to speak. However, on May 1st, Bush was part of the show.
On May 1st, the former communist worker’s holiday, there was a communist coup in the Russian Federation. The twist was the president, Vladimir Putin, organized the coup. In his first move Putin quickly used the army to quiet any rebellion. The only noticeable rebellion was in the area of Russia that nearly touched Alaska, Kamkatcha.
Some 10,000 troops in the desolate territory did not follow Putin’s orders to raid a local town and declared war on the communists. Bush was quick to help these troops and sent 15,000 of his own. Bush quoted, “We can’t have a resurrection of communism.”
This time, the US troops got to their destination on time. However, it was déjà vu all over again. The combined 25,000 US-Russian troops had no chance against the 200,000 communist troops. Most were killed or captured by May 10th. On May 11th, Bush quickly repelled the declaration of war on Russia.
On June 12th, Vladimir Putin declared Russia the Soviet Empire. On July 4th, Putin invaded all of the former Soviet republics and successfully restored Russia’s old boundaries on August 1st. On the same day, Putin renamed Russia to the Soviet Empire of United States (Putin intentionally put United States in his empire’s name to make fun of the US but quickly changed it to Socialist States).
In September he drew up plans to extend the borders of the Soviet Empire by invading Finland and Mongolia. On October 1st he put his plans into effect and invaded both countries. He successfully conquered both countries in fourteen days. On November 10th, Putin attended an emergency session of the UN and promised to stop his expansion.
Putin also promised a to sign a 10 year non-aggression pact with all of the European countries if the European Union would let the Soviet Empire join it for five years. The EU was quick to agree. He also pledged to strengthen ties with the US and other western democracies. What Putin really had in mind was something other than peace.
